The THW Design team was able to create light and open social areas where previously existed small dark and poorly positioned spaces. An existing outdoor courtyard providing picnic areas and shade were connected to a new Community Space. Creating this indoor to outdoor connection was one of the key drivers in the program. In addition, more efficient use of office space created more space for residents. A new recreation space with billiards table and a new fitness center were created for the expanding resident programs.
The Lobby, with its Concierge desk, is visually open to the Community Room so residents can see the social offerings. Adjacent to the Community Room is the pantry and coffee station. Nearby is the computer learning center with work stations and printers. The entire facility provides wireless internet access for laptops. All of these spaces are light and open, yet provide ample security.
