2021 Iconic Wolrd Awards - Care Facility, Innovative Architecture Award Winner
Working with our long-term client Taikang, THW Design provided master planning, design, and senior living operational consultation for Lu Garden in the coastal city of Xiamen, China. The master plan for this urban CCRC addresses several unique urban design challenges. Chief among them are elevated connectors that span busy city streets and connect the community to the surrounding neighborhood. This connectivity upholds the Vital Life platform concept, allowing for social confluence. Residents can enjoy the lush garden surrounding their homes undisturbed by the traffic below. With a hospital and rehabilitation center on site, residents are free to live an independent lifestyle and enjoy the many amenities the site has to offer but with the security of onsite healthcare should the need arise.
